I'm a DPhil Candidate in philosophy at the University of Oxford.
My interests are in metaphysics, the philosophy of science, and in post-Kantian European philosophy (including German Idealism).
Much of my research involves examining philosophical figures or positions from the perspective of traditions other than their own in order to bring new conceptual resources to bear on the paradigms and debates in which they are enmeshed.
I am Editorial Assistant for the Hegel Bulletin and a Junior Dean at Keble College.
I hail from Lancaster in the North West of England. Before coming to Oxford, I read my BA (Hons) in Philosophy at the University of Hull and my MA in Continental Philosophy at the University of Warwick.
I am currently working on the conceptual relationship between the thought of Gilles Deleuze and 'ontic structural realism' in contemporary philosophy of science and physics.
Full details of my publications (including abstracts and links to papers) can be found on PhilPapers, or by following the relevant links on this page.
If you would like to read my work but lack access, then please do get in touch.
I regularly provide tutorial teaching in Moral Philosophy (Prelims), General Philosophy (Prelims), and in Post-Kantian Philosophy (113) at Oxford.
I also supervise undergraduate dissertations within my area of expertise and provide advice on study skills.
In all the years that I have been taking advantage of the TA scheme, I cannot remember a better TA.
